It's Connection.
What Is Connections?
The Connections Program is a community-based social recreation program for individuals ages 14 and older.
Participants explore their communities through inclusive outings, recreational activities, and shared experiences designed to promote friendship development, communication, independence, community participation, and belonging.
Whether attending a local event, sharing a meal with friends, bowling, visiting a museum, or exploring a new place, every activity is intentionally designed to support meaningful social connection.

THE CONNECTIONS MODEL
The activity is NOT the service.
The service is the opportunity to connect.
Community locations provide the setting where participants:
- Meet peers
- Build friendships
- Practice communication
- Explore shared interests
- Develop confidence
- Participate in community life
Through recreation, participants strengthen skills that support greater independence, self-determination, and community inclusion.

SOCIAL RECREATION IN ACTION
Every community experience is intentionally designed to create opportunities for social interaction, friendship development, communication, and meaningful participation.
Participants may enjoy museums, restaurants, sporting events, festivals, parks, bowling centers, beaches, libraries, and community attractions.
While locations change, the goal remains the same:
Building confidence, creating friendships, and fostering a sense of belonging through shared recreation.
WHY SOCIAL RECREATION MATTERS
Social recreation provides opportunities for individuals to build relationships, develop confidence, explore interests, strengthen communication skills, and participate meaningfully in community life.
Through inclusive community-based experiences, participants practice self-determination, community participation, and social connection in real-world settings.
